All eyes on Wednesday’s weather


PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – Happy Sunday evening, everyone.

A very pleasant and warm day across the pine belt on Sunday will give way to a cooler Sunday evening, with lows between the 40s and 50s. Patchy fog is also possible.

As we head into Monday, expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the mid upper 50s by Tuesday morning.

Increasing clouds are expected by Tuesday afternoon. It will also be very windy with southerly winds at 10 miles per hour to 15 miles per hour, gusting up to 25 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy skies are expected Tuesday evening with lows in the mid-60s.

Wednesday was declared “a first day of weather alert”. as a system passes through the region that afternoon and evening.

The biggest threats to this system are severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes accompanied by heavy rain. The risk of showers and thunderstorms is 80%. Please follow the future forecast on this weather system.

By Thursday, sunny skies are expected to return, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 40s to around 50.

More rain is expected Friday evening and Saturday. Highs will be in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Chance of rain is 40% Friday night and 50% Saturday

Sunny skies are expected on Sunday, with highs in the mid-70s.
