BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – There’s a slight cooling and a break in the humidity as we kick off the last weekend of July. Don’t get used to it too much. August seems to be off to a hot start.
There is a fast moving cold front on Friday morning/noon with a few possible scattered showers, but it becomes drier with more solar breaks later in the afternoon. A nice breeze, slightly cooler and less humid air returns behind the cold front to end the week. Friday’s highs are expected to move from the upper 70s to the lower 80s.
Then drier, cooler and less humid air briefly returns on Saturday before the summer heat builds up again as we flip the calendar to August. Expect temperatures near 80s on Saturday, then well into the 80s on Sunday.
On Monday, temperatures are back to flirting with 90 most of the week. A cold front on Tuesday will likely bring showers and scattered storms to the southern level. But don’t expect relief from heat and humidity for a while after that.
