It is a cloudy start to the day with building cloud cover moving ahead of a weak cold front. There is a slight chance of spotty showers in the morning, but we will generally have a dry day on the Twin Tiers. Clouds are beginning to dissolve this afternoon with less cloud cover through the evening. Highs today reach close to 40 with some possible sunny spells during the afternoon. Overnight we will remain partly cloudy with a few high level clouds. Clearing is possible late overnight and early Wednesday morning. Tonight’s lows are in the mid to high 20s. A cold front moves into Wednesday morning bringing increasing cloud cover and a few spotty flurries. This cold front is moving fast and moves into the late morning. Behind the cold front is a northwesterly wind that will usher in lake effect cloud cover and flurries. The overall accumulation of these flurries will be light with higher totals farther west and in Steuben County. Highs reach the upper 30s tomorrow.

The dry weather returns for Thursday but we cling to the cloud cover. A low pressure area moves in Thursday night and brings some snow showers. Again we dry out during the day on Friday (Christmas Eve) but see active weather return for Christmas Eve night. Another area of ​​low pressure is advancing through the region Friday evening, bringing rain showers overnight. Rain and snow showers will continue through Christmas Day on Saturday. As this area of ​​low pressure moves away, the clouds remain fair for the start of Sunday. Clouds lessen throughout the day on Sunday with more cloud for Monday but we are staying dry.
