South Carolina hosts No. 1 Texas this weekend.
Special to the State
The South Carolina and Texas weekend baseball series has been adjusted due to upcoming weather conditions.
Game 1 originally scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. was moved to 1 p.m. as thunderstorms are expected that night, according to a press release.
No other changes have yet been made to the three-game game at Columbia.
South Carolina heads into the weekend after losing four straight games, including a game on Tuesday against a 3-9 Xavier team. USC was also swept by arch-rival Clemson last weekend in a three-game split between Columbia and Clemson.
Texas, too, has had its recent problems. UT lost a Wednesday night game to Texas State in Austin after narrowly escaping the Bobcats in San Marcos the day before.
The Longhorns also announced Thursday morning that Sunday’s starter, Tanner Whitt, will miss the rest of the season with a UCL tear that required Tommy John’s surgery.
South Carolina was swept by Texas in Austin last spring, losing all three games by a combined score of 15-6.
