Weather forecast for Gardens of Eden

The preparation for the IPL 2022 qualifiers has not been very encouraging. Not that people have lost interest after constantly consuming sports for the past couple of months or so, but because there’s a good chance the rain gods will play spoilsport in the most important to the tournament.

While Qualifier 1 has yet to begin, criticism has already begun for the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) for choosing Kolkata as the venue for the qualifiers in the last week of May.

One main reason this review is justifiable is because of the weather forecast in the city. Although a hot day, May 24th received quite a bit of rain and is expected to see even more as the day progresses.

According to AccuWeather, there is a 34% chance of rain in Kolkata at the time of the draw today. The number is expected to reach 54% by 23:00 (IST). Even at midnight, a 49% chance of rain is forecast.
