First Alert Weather Forecast

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Low pressure heading into the Ohio Valley this morning will spread snow across our area today. It can get just warm enough from a few drops of rain to mix with snowfall today. Temperatures are climbing today into the mid 30’s. Snowfall totals today are expected to be less than an inch and will mostly be in grassy areas or items such as patio furniture or wood decks. This evening, it’s a different story with temperatures dropping to almost 32°. An inch or two of snow will be possible this evening and with temperatures near freezing it could start to stick to sidewalks and roadways.

Wednesday is a first weather alert day: Our reasoning for the first weather alert on Wednesday is the potential for a slippery morning commute. Being the first slippery morning ride of the season, it traditionally sees an increase in accidents. Plan to allow a few extra minutes for your morning commute on Wednesday. We are seeing intermittent snow showers throughout the day Wednesday which could mix with a few raindrops. Little additional snow accumulation is expected Wednesday. High temperatures on Wednesday climb to the upper mid-30s.

More snow showers are expected Thursday through Saturday. High temperatures climb to the upper mid-30s on Thursday. A cold front is moving the area Thursday night and it will be much colder Friday and the weekend with highs in the 20s and overnight lows in the teens.
