Hour-by-hour weather forecast for Wednesday as sunny spells expected to continue

The Met Office has predicted sunny spells are set to continue across the North East.

The meteorological authority says most parts of the region should expect an “increasingly hot day with long sunny spells” with a maximum temperature of 16C on Wednesday. The Met Office weather forecast for today read: “Possibly some low cloud towards the coasts at the start, elsewhere a good start.

“An increasingly warm day with long sunny spells and a gentle easterly breeze. Scattered light cloud is possible later in the afternoon. High temperature 16C.”

This afternoon scattered clouds are expected to appear later and continue before dusk. Tonight’s weather forecast reads: “Scattered clouds and sunny intervals before dusk this evening.

“Breeze with long clear spells overnight and scattered ground frost developing. Low clouds possible near the coast at dawn. Low temperature -1 C.”
