It may have been a gray and miserable start in Greater Manchester this morning (May 4), but conditions will dry out – and clear up – as the day goes on.
The Met Office reports that there could be a few “strong gusts” of rain early on, accompanied by “quite extensive low cloud”. But it’s about to get “much brighter” with sunny spells and a northwesterly breeze heading into the afternoon. Today’s maximum temperature will reach 15°C.
As the evening unfolds, winds will “drop light”, leaving a dry night with clear patches and “variable amounts of cloud”. It will become rather cool in sheltered rural areas, with a minimum temperature of 4°C overnight.

Thursday, meanwhile, should be a much calmer day, with a slightly warmer 17C. There will be cloudy and sunny periods throughout the day, which will remain dry. But the rain will return on Friday afternoon.
