After a magnificent sunny period this weekend, temperatures should remain warm today (Monday May 9) with highs of 18°C. But the sun will not last, with a return of cloudy conditions and showers announced this evening.

Mancunians will wake to a ‘fine and bright’ morning, but the winds will strengthen as rain rolls in from the northwest this afternoon, according to the Met Office. The night will become “wet and windy” for many, but skies are expected to clear until the early hours of Tuesday.

Overnight, the minimum temperature will drop to around 6°C. Tomorrow will see a mix of sunshine and showers, with rain becoming heavy at times. The wind will weaken slightly compared to today, even if the conditions are still described as “windy”.
