  • India and South Africa will face each other in the 1st T20I on Wednesday
  • India beat Australia 2-0 in their previous T20I series
  • The playing conditions will be very wet during the first IND vs SA T20I

India and South Africa are all set to face off in the first game of the three-game T20I series in Trivandrum on Wednesday, September 28.

India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be brimming with confidence after beating Australia 2-1 in the three-game T20I series. The Men in Blue made a tremendous comeback after initially losing at PCA Stadium in Mohali, where Cameron Green and Matthew Wade decimated them.

The upcoming series is also an opportunity for India to put the finishing touches on their preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup. Axar Patel became the player of the series against the Australians and he will be looking to step up again, this time in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Harshal Patel did a lot in the previous series and he needs to improve his game a bit. Virat Kohli scored 63 goals in the T20I final against Australia and will be looking to build on that momentum.

South Africa, led by Temba Bavuma, have their work cut out for them. Earlier this year, the Proteas started with a landslide victory over India but couldn’t win the series. But having won all of their last four games, they seem to be in a pretty good position.

Bavuma’s men beat England and Ireland 2-1 and 2-0 respectively. Although Rassie van der Dussen is not part of their team, the presence of Rille Roossuw and Tristan Stubbs makes their batting lineup terrific.

Anrich Nortje has battled quite a few injuries since the T20 World Cup in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and he will be looking to go full throttle. Nortje and Kagiso Rabada undoubtedly make an extremely fast bowling pair.

What’s the weather like in Trivandrum?

There is a 6% chance of rain in Trivandrum at the moment, but the skies are unlikely to open up. An uninterrupted match seems to be looming.

Game conditions will be very hot, according to Accuweather. Temperatures will be around 27 degrees Celsius. Playing conditions will also be very wet with the numbers in the 80s.

Dew will be there during the match and the coin toss may end up playing a part in deciding the winner of the match.
