June 1 weather: Storms are approaching | WIVT

(Wednesday, June 1, 2022) The threat of thunderstorms increases Wednesday afternoon and evening. Storms could be strong with damaging gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning.

A few rains and thunderstorms develop earlier in the day Wednesday. The heat, humidity and sunshine will help more thunderstorms develop later in the afternoon and evening between 3pm and 9pm.

Be on the lookout for these storms to be on the strong or severe side. Wind gusts over 40 to 50 mph pose the biggest threat from storms, followed by heavy rain and hail.

Rain and thunderstorms fade overnight. Our temperatures are dropping and so is the humidity. It will be much more refreshing the rest of the week.

Heavy clouds and a few showers in the afternoon are expected on Thursday. We are more comfortable with highs near 70.

Other than a few morning showers on Friday, the rest of the week and weekend will remain dry and comfortable.
