National Perspectives

TONIGHT will first see widespread, locally heavy rain with the possibility of integrated thunderstorms.

Rain will clear all counties except the northeast and east in the morning followed by clear spells and showers.

Lowest temperatures 8 to 12 degrees in cool to strong southeasterly winds, veering southwesterly and easing.

TOMORROW will see the last rains of the night dissipating quickly early in the morning to give way to a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, some of which will be heavy.

Drier in the north and east with longer periods of rain developing later in the west and southwest. High temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly moderate southwesterly winds, cooler in the southwest and west.

SATURDAY has a lot of uncertainty in the forecast, but current indications suggest it will be a rainy start with widespread rain clearing northwards in scattered showers. High temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate to cool variable winds.

SUNDAY will see another day of sunny spells and showers, some heavy especially in the west and southwest. High temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate to cool south to southwest winds.

Remaining unstable for Bank Holiday Monday and the start of next week with further periods of rain or showers. Breezy sometimes too. Cooler than previous days with higher temperatures in the low to mid teens.
