The second match of the Super 12 leg of the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will see England take on Afghanistan at the Perth Stadium on Saturday.
England are coming off a win in their warm-up match against Pakistan. Bowling first, the bowlers did a very good job limiting Pakistan to 160 in their 20 overs. The batters then contributed and scoffed the chase as they crossed the line at the 15th, winning the game by six wickets.
Jos Buttler will lead the English team in the competition. They have a lot of experience in their team and are among the favorites to win the title. They have been in very good form in the shorter format and it will be interesting to see if they manage to maintain their form at the next world event.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, beat Bangladesh in their first warm-up match. Batting first, the Afghan team posted 160 runs on the board, losing seven wickets in their 20 overs. The bowlers then picked up nine wickets and limited Bangladesh to 98 to win the match by 62 runs. Their second warm-up match against Pakistan could not be completed due to rain.
Experienced militant Mohammad Nabi was assigned to lead the Afghan side. The likes of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rahmanullah Gurbaz feature in a number of T20 leagues around the world and will be looking to use their experience while taking on the best teams in the world. They will be eager to get off to a winning start.
