The weekend weather in Racine and Kenosha County will give residents a slight taste of spring. However, the fine weather will be followed by snow and rain which will continue throughout the week. Your weekend predictions for Racine and Kenosha counties are listed below.
The National Weather Service reports that it is currently mostly cloudy. It is currently 34°F. Starting tonight, temperatures will drop to around 33°F. Winds will shift from east to southeast.
On Saturday, temperatures will warm to a high of 62°F. The weather will be partly cloudy according to the National Weather Service. However, things will drastically change on Saturday night. Wisconsinites in Racine and Kenosha counties can expect showers and possible thunderstorms starting at midnight and ending around 3 a.m. Thunderstorms are forecast. Saturday evening, temperatures will reach a low of 38°F.
It is likely that there will be wind. Winds will head south and reach up to 15-20 mph. Winds will then head southwest 20-25 mph after midnight. Winds could blow up to 45 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. In the event of a thunderstorm, expect heavier rainfall. As of now, the National Weather Service reports that Racine County will receive between a tenth and a quarter inch of rain.
As we move forward into the weekend, the weather will change from a springtime atmosphere to wintery weather. On Sunday it should be partly cloudy. It will peak near 46° F. It will be windy. Winds will shift to the west at 20-25 mph then ease to 10-15 mph in the afternoon. However, wind gusts could potentially reach 45 mph.
It is likely to rain and snow after midnight on Sunday. Snowfall will begin after 2 a.m. and temperatures will reach a low of around 30°F. Winds will shift northwest at around 5-10 mph and shift to northeast after midnight.
The chance of precipitation is currently 60% according to the National Weather Service. Fresh snow accumulation is estimated at less than half an inch.
