We saw a pleasant, but quite warm day today, our Thursday, across the region. The high moved into our area to dominate our weather conditions for today and tonight only. Most of our high temperatures today hit the 80s at around 90 degrees this afternoon. We saw plenty of sunshine as a rule.
The high pressure will keep our region on the dry side until early Friday morning. During our day on Friday, a front that passed through our region yesterday will do the following, this front will retreat northward and a depression will join it. This combo will give our area an even better chance of rain and thunderstorms as we enter our Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend ahead. There will again be the potential for both heavy rain and severe thunderstorms at times with this weather in place. The main culprit of severe thunderstorms will sometimes be in the form of strong, gusty winds.
Most of the activity will gradually fade from our area by Sunday evening and into our Monday. This will be due to the passage of a cold front. This cold front will dry us out and could bring a little taste of fall to our region in late summer, as some overnight lows will occur well into the 50s.
