Time

It was a golden weekend of weather for those in Auckland, but the start of the week brings autumnal features more in keeping with this time of year.

The mild temperatures and bright sunshine of the weekend will be replaced Tuesday by the arrival of a northwest wind and a fair amount of cloud, according to MetService.

A light amount of rain can also be expected in the morning – probably a passing shower or two.

The afternoon can bring a few showers, which can intensify in the evening.

Temperatures will start to drop while still warm, with the lowest expected to be 18 degrees and the highest 24 degrees.

After the collective farewell to summer time on Sunday, which saw the clocks set back an hour, the evenings will also start to show signs of changing seasons – commuters can expect a return to the home with a sunset time of 6:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Looking to the rest of the week, Tuesday’s shower broadcasts will transition to a wet, cloudy and windy start to Wednesday.

MetService expects the soggy weather to persist through Thursday, before the sun returns Friday in time for a fairer weekend forecast.
