It’s a clear, cold morning in central Alabama. Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s. Jackets needed now, but you won’t need them later.
Today will continue to be beautiful, sunny and warmer as the high pressure area remains over Louisiana and Mississippi. High temperatures will climb into the upper 70s this afternoon. This warm weather will allow more trees to start flowering. Be prepared for your allergies to start showing up.
Tonight, we will be rather clear and less cold. The lows will be in the low to mid 40s.
Friday will be another pleasant day with more sunshine and abnormally warm temperatures. We will have a high temperature around 80°.
Weekend Outlook: The high will be east of Alabama this weekend bringing the southerly winds back. This will continue to bring unusually warm temperatures for the season, but it will also increase the humidity in the air. We will become partly cloudy on Saturday with high temperatures around 80°. Sunday will be partly cloudy, warm and a little wetter, so we may see a stray shower appear in the afternoon mostly over far western Alabama. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s. It’s great for the first weekend of March.
Next week’s outlook: Unfortunately, more active and stormy weather returns next week. We are going with a Weather Aware on Monday, as some storms could be strong at times.
We will only have a few possible showers on Tuesday and Wednesday with much cooler high temperatures in the 60s. Rain will return Thursday through Friday. The old front retreats north as a warm front on Thursday with rain, then spreads as a cold front on Friday. Temperatures will remain in the 60s.
