The best chances of storms are in the interior of the country with heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds as the main threats. Expected highs will reach lows in the mid-90s with temperatures feeling triple digits.

If you head to the theme parks today, it will be warm with highs in the low to mid-90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the attractions. Lightning will be the main threat. Remember, when thunder rolls, come inside.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA BEACHES?
We start the day with showers and isolated thunderstorms just off the east coast. These thunderstorms will continue until mid-morning. Then there’s a chance for a stray storm or two this afternoon, with the highest coverage west of I-95. Highs will climb to the upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. There is a moderate risk of rip current, so swim close to an open lifeguard station.
LOOK AHEAD: A disturbance aloft will increase our chance of rain today. Chances of rain will decrease as dry air moves in mid-week with temperatures reaching the mid-90s. Stay hydrated and weather-savvy.
TROPICS: We are starting to see a resumption of tropical activity. The National Hurricane Center monitors a tropical surge off the west coast of Africa. The disturbance has grown by 40% over the next 5 days.
