PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After a cloudy day and cooler 70-degree weather, Portland is inviting sunshine and summer temperatures to return to forecast.
There will be a cloudy moment in the morning, eventually turning to sunshine in the late morning. As low pressure continues to flow west of Oregon, temperatures are expected to warm.
This disturbance is expected to settle far enough from the coast to allow some of the warmer air to the south and east to flow back into the Willamette Valley.
Temperatures will start around the lower 60s in the morning. Ideal for an early morning bike ride or just an early hike.
Expect a calm wind blowing out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. By the time the lunch hours roll around, we’ll be having temps in the mid-70s here.
Expect the day to end in the 80s, working into the mid-80s for many quarters.

There will be less thunderstorm activity developing across the state today. After a few severe storms that rolled through Tuesday night and then lingered Wednesday, the storm threat is expected to move mostly out of the state today.
There may be a few isolated storms bubbling up near the Oregon-Idaho border in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach the lower 90 degrees from The Dalles to Pendleton this afternoon.
