A depression is located off the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and is moving northwest. On the approach, isolated heavy falls are possible through Tuesday.

After Wednesday, rain will gradually taper off as the system moves inland, but isolated rains may remain over the southern peninsula.

Other areas will experience dry conditions during this forecast period except for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands where another round of rains are expected to begin mid-week due to the upcoming cyclonic circulation.

As for mercury levels, maximum temperatures will be cooler than average in Andhra Pradesh on Monday due to rain. The warmer trend will return to the southern peninsula in the second half of the week.
