  • Widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

  • Isolated rains are likely over Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Karnataka.
  • Heatwave conditions are likely in isolated locations in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat and interior Maharashtra.

Summary of the forecast for the next five days:

A cyclonic circulation located over northeast India and strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal laden with moisture will bring fairly widespread to widespread rains and thunderstorms over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from Sunday to Wednesday. Likewise, scattered rains and thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from Sunday to Wednesday, and heavy rains are expected over isolated parts of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Assam and Meghalaya on Sunday.

To the south, a trough and cyclonic circulation are likely to persist around the southern peninsula of India during this period, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to the region. Wind shear over southern Maharashtra and adjacent northern Karnataka will bring thunderstorms to southern Maharashtra, Goa and northern Karnataka on Sunday.

A western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region on Monday. For this reason, scattered snow or rain and thunderstorms are likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, isolated snow or rain over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and isolated rain over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on Monday.

Maximum temperatures are likely to be slightly below average or near normal on the east coast of India, while other regions will experience slightly above average temperatures during this period. Minimum temperatures will remain above average in northwest India and slightly above or near normal in southeast India during this period.
