The monsoon trough at mean sea level passes near the foothills of the Himalayas. Meanwhile, one cyclonic circulation is located over eastern Uttar Pradesh while another is located over eastern Jharkhand. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from East Vidarbha to the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, a trough extends from the central parts of the northern Andaman Sea to southern Tamil Nadu.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Monday, Thursday and Friday, and over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya for the next five days. In addition, isolated very heavy rains are also possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on August 31, September 1 and September 2.
