  • Fairly widespread rainfall with a few isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are possible over Bihar, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu.
  • Scattered rains and thunderstorms were forecast over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Isolated rains are forecast over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Telangana.

Thursday (September 1)

  • Widespread rains with a few isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
  • Fairly widespread rainfall with a few isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
  • Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic-West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Isolated rains are likely over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Telangana.

The monsoon trough passes near the foothills of the Himalayas as a cyclonic circulation extends over the interior of Tamil Nadu and its environs. Additionally, a trough extends from the aforementioned cyclonic circulation over the interior of Tamil Nadu and the district west of Vidarbha.

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya in over the next five days. Isolated very heavy rains are also possible over Arunachal Pradesh from September 1-4, and over Assam and Meghalaya from September 2-4.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is possible over Bihar from August 31 to September 4, and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. Isolated very heavy rains were also forecast over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on August 31 and September 1.

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Himachal Pradesh on September 3-4 and over Uttarakhand on September 1-2-4.

In addition, fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over the coast and northern interior of Karnataka from August 31 to September 3, Lakshadweep on August 1 and 2 September and on Tamil Nadu, Southern Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé over the next five days.
