Here is the weather forecast for the next two days.

Wednesday

  • Widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands with isolated heavy falls in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and northern Madhya Pradesh.
  • Fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms are on the Konkan coast.
  • Scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and the Lakshadweep.
  • Isolated rains are possible over Ladakh and Rajasthan.

Thursday

  • Widespread rains and thunderstorms were forecast over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal .
  • Fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely on the Konkan coast.
  • Scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and the Lakshadweep.
  • Isolated rains are possible over Ladakh and Rajasthan.

A cyclonic circulation is spreading over western Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas. The monsoon trough is close to its normal position and most likely will continue to move further north over the next 2-3 days. Additionally, an east-west shear zone crosses northern peninsular India with an offshore trough that extends from the southern coast of Gujarat to the coast of Karnataka. The weather events for the next five days will be the result of these weather events.

Fairly widespread or widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh , Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh from Wednesday to Sunday. Isolated very heavy rain is also possible over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh on Wednesday, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh through Thursday, and over Uttarakhand from Thursday through Sunday. Isolated or scattered extremely heavy falls are expected over Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

Fairly widespread or widespread light to moderate rainfall with heavy falls was forecast over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura over the next five days. Additionally, very heavy isolated falls are possible over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Wednesday, and over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya through Thursday.

Expect fairly widespread or widespread light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahé, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep during for the next five days. Additional isolated heavy rains were forecast over Kerala and Mahe through Thursday, western Madhya Pradesh through Saturday, eastern Madhya Pradesh through Wednesday and Saturday, and Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh through Thursday into Sunday. Isolated very heavy rain is also likely over eastern Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and over western Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is forecast over Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karaikal, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Coast Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana over the next five days. Meanwhile, isolated heavy rains are highly likely over Tamil Nadu and Bihar through Thursday, Odisha Thursday and Friday, Gujarat Saturday and Telangana Friday and Saturday. Finally, isolated very heavy rain is also likely over Odisha on Saturday and Sunday.
