  • Heavy rains are possible over Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal.
  • Widespread rains with thunderstorms are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and the Karnataka coast .
  • Fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms were forecast over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karaikal and interior Karnataka.
  • Scattered rains with thunderstorms are forecast over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Andhra Pradesh Coast, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahé and Lakshadweep.

Wednesday (July 27)

  • Heavy rains are possible over eastern Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karaikal and southern interior Karnataka.
  • Widespread rains accompanied by thunderstorms are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, India. Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and the Karnataka coast.
  • Fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms are likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat , Konkan, Goa, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karaikal and inner Karnataka.
  • Scattered rains with thunderstorms were forecast over Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Andhra Pradesh coast, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.

Three-day precipitation accumulation from Tuesday to Thursday

A low pressure area is extending over southern Pakistan and surrounding areas with its associated cyclonic circulation and is expected to subside over the next 12 hours. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough passes south of its normal position and will gradually move north from tomorrow. The combination of the above systems is likely to result in the following weather events this week.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Gujarat, Konkan, Vidarbha, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka and Telangana, while ‘Scattered to fairly widespread rainy activity is expected over Odisha, Jharkhand, Western Madhya Pradesh, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Inner Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal from Tuesday to Thursday.

Meanwhile, isolated heavy falls are expected over Odisha and Gujarat on Tuesday, Jharkhand on Thursday and Friday, Telangana on Tuesday and Wednesday, South Interior Karnataka from Wednesday to Friday and over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from Tuesday to Friday.

Apart from that, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday and Friday, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from Tuesday to Saturday. Additional isolated heavy to very heavy rain is very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from Thursday to Saturday.

In addition, scattered to fairly widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is possible over western Rajasthan on Tuesday, eastern Rajasthan through Wednesday, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from Wednesday to Saturday, over Uttar Pradesh from Thursday to Saturday, and will increase thereafter with widespread rainfall activity over the region.

Finally, fairly widespread light to moderate rains with isolated heavy falls were forecast over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura through Saturday, with isolated very heavy rain over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on Thursday and Friday.
