Friday (June 24)

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations is very likely over Konkan and Goa.
  • Heavy rains in isolated locations are possible over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in isolated locations have been forecast over eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, l ‘Odisha, Andhra Pradesh coast, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahé and Lakshadweep.
  • Squalls (winds of 40 to 60 km/h) are expected over the central eastern Arabian Sea along and off the southern coasts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka.

Saturday (June 25)

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan and Goa.
  • Heavy rains in isolated locations are possible over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in isolated locations have been forecast over eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Coast of Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahé and Lakshadweep.
  • Squalls (wind speed 40 to 60 km/h) are forecast over the east-central Arabian Sea along and off the southern coasts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala .

The influence of an offshore trough, mid-level cyclonic circulation over the east-central Arabian Sea off the coast of Maharashtra, and strong westerly winds along the eastern west coast likely to cause the following weather events:

  • Fairly widespread to widespread rains with thunderstorms and lightning over Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep
  • Scattered to fairly widespread rains over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal over the next five days.
  • Isolated heavy rains over Gujarat, Kerala and Mahé over the next four days, over Konkan, Goa and the Karnataka coast over the next five days, over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from June 24 to 26, over the interior of Karnataka on Saturday and on the Andhra Pradesh coast on Friday.
  • Isolated very heavy rain over Konkan and Goa over the next three days.

The influence of south/southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to the northeast and east of adjacent India is likely to result in the following weather events:

  • Widespread rainfall over northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim over the next five days.
  • Heavy rains isolated Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura over the next five days.
  • Isolated very heavy rains over sub-Himalayan West Bengal from 25-28 June.
  • Fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms and lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal over the next five days.
  • Isolated heavy rains over Vidarbha on Friday and Saturday, over Bihar from June 24-28, over Odisha from June 24-25 and June 27-28 and over Chhattisgarh from June 24-28.
  • Isolated very heavy rain over Bihar on Tuesday.
