Here is the weather forecast for the next two days.

Tuesday (June 28)

  • Heavy rain is possible over Konkan, Goa and parts of Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • Widespread rains with isolated thunderstorms are likely over Konkan, Goa, Karnataka Coast, Kerala, Mahé, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal , Sikkim, Bihar and Uttarakhand.
  • Fairly widespread rains with isolated thunderstorms were forecast over Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh Coast, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.
  • Scattered rain with isolated lightning is on the maps over Gujarat, Marathawada, Rayalaseema, Telangana and interior Karnataka,
  • Isolated rains are forecast over Tamil Nadu, western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Rajasthan, with a risk of lightning.
  • Scattered rains with isolated thunderstorms are likely over Odisha.
  • Very heavy rains are possible in isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Wednesday (June 29)

  • Heavy rains are possible over Konkan, Goa and parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
  • Widespread rains with isolated thunderstorms are likely over Konkan, Goa, Karnataka Coast, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bengal Western Gangetic, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
  • Fairly widespread rains with isolated thunderstorms are likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha , Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, eastern Rajasthan and Vidarbha.
  • Scattered rains with isolated lightning are expected over Gujarat, Marathawada, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
  • Scattered rains with isolated thunderstorms were predicted over Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and western Rajasthan, with a risk of lightning.

An east-west trough over northern India and moist winds from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea over the north of the country are likely to bring the following weather events:

  • Isolated heavy rains over western Rajasthan on Friday, over Uttarakhand on Thursday, over eastern Rajasthan on Tuesday, over western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and Friday, over Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday, over Western Madhya Pradesh Tuesday, Eastern Madhya Pradesh Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Chhattisgarh June 28 to July 1, and Vidarbha Tuesday and Wednesday, Odisha Wednesday to Friday, Jharkhand Tuesday to Wednesday, on Bihar on Thursday and on Gangetic West Bengal on Wednesday.
  • Isolated heavy to very heavy rains over Uttarakhand on Tuesday and Wednesday, over western Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday, over eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 28 to 30, over western Madhya Pradesh from June 29 to July 2, over eastern Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, and over Bihar on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The influence of an offshore trough along the west coast and strong westerly/southwesterly winds also along the west coast is likely to lead to the following weather events:

  • Isolated heavy to very heavy rains over Konkan and Goa over the next five days, over Gujarat on Friday and Saturday, and over the Karnataka coast on Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Isolated heavy rains over Gujarat, Karnataka coast, Kerala and Mahe over the next five days, Madhya Maharashtra and interior Karnataka on Wednesday and Thursday, southern parts of Saurashtra on Friday and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

The influence of south/southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to northeast and adjacent eastern India is likely to result in fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are also possible over sub-Himalayan West Bengal through Wednesday.
