Weather Today: Fairly widespread Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) rainfall activity over Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh today and Tuesday May 24, as well as isolated to scattered rainfall activity over Rajasthan, northern Madhya Pradesh, according to a statement.

He said the rainfall intensity will likely peak on May 23 and gradually decrease from May 24, 2022.
Isolated hailstorms are also likely to occur over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on May 23-24, IMD said.
Isolated heavy rains are also likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today.
Dust storm activity most likely in isolated locations over Rajasthan today.
Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rain with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha over the next 2 days and thereafter tapering to isolated light rain over the region, the statement said.
IMD predicts isolated heavy rain also likely over Odisha on May 24, 2022.
Scattered to fairly widespread light and moderate rain most likely over Assam-Meghalaya and
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and isolated to
scattered rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh over the next 5 days.
Scattered to fairly widespread rain with thunder, lightning, gusty winds most likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next 3 days and isolated heavy rain are also likely on May 23.
Squally weather with a wind speed reaching 40-50 km/h with gusts at 60 km/h probably over the center-east
Bay of Bengal and adjacent to the northern Andaman Sea and southwest to the Bay of Bengal along and off Sri Lanka
coast for the next 2 days.
Strong winds 40 to 50 km/h gusting to 60 km/h likely over northeast Arabian Sea along and offshore
North Gujarat Coast, South West Arabian Sea, North West Arabian Sea for the next 2 days.

No significant change in maximum temperatures over most parts of northwest and central India over the next 2 days and increase of 2-4°C thereafter.
No significant change in maximum temperatures most likely over the rest of the country over the next 5 days.

No heat wave conditions are likely to develop over any part of the country for the next 5 days except over western Rajasthan where isolated heat wave conditions are likely on May 26-27.
