  • Fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand and Gujarat.
  • Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected for Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Isolated rains are likely over Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

An area of ​​low pressure is located off the Andhra Pradesh/Odisha coast and will likely hold its position through the weekend. It will start moving into the inner zone on Monday. Additionally, westerly winds from the Arabian Sea will add to this system and bring widespread rains to Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gangetic-West Bengal during this period. From Sunday, rainfall in South Gujarat will increase. The system may also bring rainfall to Delhi-NCR during the first half of next week.

As for mercury levels, the temperature in the western end of Rajasthan is expected to exceed 40°C in the next five days. Overnight lows will be warmer than average across the country.
