Monday (September 12)

  • Heavy rains are possible over central, eastern, northeastern India, northern southern India and western coastal regions from Gujarat to Kerala.
  • Very heavy falls are likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa.
  • Widespread rains accompanied by thunderstorms are likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé.
  • Fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms were forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana, Inner Karnataka and the Lakshadweep.
  • Scattered rains accompanied by thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, eastern Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
  • Isolated rains with thunderstorms were forecast for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Rajasthan, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal.

Tuesday (September 13)

  • Widespread heavy rains are possible over central, eastern and northeastern India, especially with very heavy falls over Madhya Pradesh and the western coasts of India.
  • Very heavy falls are likely over Gujarat, ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa.
  • Widespread rains accompanied by thunderstorms were forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Ganges West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé.
  • Fairly widespread rains with thunderstorms are forecast over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch and Chhattisgarh .
  • Scattered rains with thunderstorms are expected over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh coast, Yanam, Telangana, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
  • Isolated rains with thunderstorms are possible over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Rajasthan, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal.

The South Chhattisgarh Depression is centered on South Chhattisgarh and adjoins South East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, about 95 km south-south-east of Gondia (Vidarbha) and 185 km south-east from Seoni (Madhya Pradesh). It is likely to move northwest and gradually weaken over the next 12 hours. Additionally, the monsoon trough moves south of its normal position and will likely remain so for the next three days. A cyclonic circulation extends over the central eastern Arabian Sea off the southern coast of Maharashtra-Goa.

Isolated heavy falls as well as thunderstorms and lightning are likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh from September 12-13, West Madhya Pradesh, ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and Gujarat over the next five days, Gangetic West Bengal, Saurashtra and Kutch September 12-14, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Jharkhand September 12-14, Bihar September 13-14, and Marathwada September 12.

Isolated very heavy rains are also possible over Gangetic West Bengal and Chhattisgarh on September 12, East Madhya Pradesh on September 12-13, West Madhya Pradesh on September 13-15, Odisha, Marathwada, Gujarat, Madhya ghat areas Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa over the next five days.

Isolated heavy falls as well as thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, the coast and northern interior of Karnataka and Telangana on September 12, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur , Mizoram and Tripura September 12-14, Arunachal Pradesh September 13-14, Uttarakhand for the next five days, Himachal Pradesh September 15, Eastern Rajasthan September 13-15.

In addition, isolated very heavy rains are expected over Uttarakhand on 14-15 September and over eastern Rajasthan on 15 September.
