  • Heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy falls in isolated places are to be expected in Madhya Maharashtra.
  • Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in isolated parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
  • Heavy rains are possible in isolated locations in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Saurashtra and Kutch.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in isolated locations are very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, from Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Odisha.

The well-marked low pressure area extends over northwest Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas with its associated cyclonic circulation. It is likely to move slowly northwest towards northern Madhya Pradesh. The western end of the monsoon trough extends south of its normal position while its eastern end extends near its normal position. A trough extends from the northwest Arabian Sea to northern Bangladesh. Additionally, an upper cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the northern Bay of Bengal along and off the northern coasts of Odisha and West Bengal around September 18th.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over Jharkhand on September 18, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on September 14, Bihar on September 14 and 18 September, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on September 15-16, Saurashtra and Kutch on September 14-15, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat on September 14-16, and East Madhya Pradesh, the ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa from the next five days.

Isolated very heavy rains are also possible over western Madhya Pradesh, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat on 14-15 September, and over Konkan and Goa from 14-16 September. Extremely heavy isolated rains are also forecast over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on 15th September.

Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are in the books for Haryana and Uttar Pradesh September 14-17, Western Rajasthan September 16-17 , Punjab on September 17, Himachal Pradesh from September 15-17, and over Uttarakhand and eastern Rajasthan over the next five days.

Finally, isolated very heavy rains are also forecast for eastern Rajasthan on September 14 and 15, Uttar Pradesh from September 15 to 18 and Uttarakhand from September 14 to 18. Extremely heavy isolated rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand on 17 September.
