According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the retreat of the southwest monsoon is expected to continue through Khajuwala, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Naliya.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) over northeast Madhya Pradesh will likely track west-northwestward on Thursday and Friday. Additionally, a trough extends around the aforementioned LPA to the northwest of the Bay of Bengal. Under the influence of the above system and the monsoon trough, very heavy rains (≧115mm/day) are possible in isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

Weak western disturbance will affect northern India mainly over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh during this period.

An anticyclonic flow over northwest India is likely to produce dry weather over western Rajasthan and adjacent regions over the next five days.

As for mercury levels, maximum temperatures are expected to be lower than normal in northern, central and western India during this period, except for desert areas, while they are slightly above average in the southern peninsula of India. In the desert area of ​​western Rajasthan, maximum temperatures above 40℃ are possible in isolated places from Thursday to Friday. Overnight lows will be near normal or slightly above normal across the country during this period.
