Youngstown, Ohio Weather Forecast

0

THIS EVENING
Skies remain clear tonight and temperatures will be freezing. I’m looking for lows around -6°. The last time our climate station at Trumbull County Airport recorded sub-zero temperatures was January 31, 2019. If we fall below 0°, Saturday morning will be our coldest morning since nearly three years! We also have a chance for a record high at dawn on Saturday. The record is also -6°, set in 2014. Winds will be fairly light all night but a light breeze at times will allow wind chills as low as -10° to -15°.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Saturday
Our freezing morning gave way to a decent day with slightly warmer temperatures. Daytime highs will warm to the lower 20s. Expect mostly sunny skies early in the day. Clouds will increase throughout the afternoon, becoming mostly cloudy in the evening.

Saturday night
Saturday night will be rather cloudy and less cold. The dry weather continues with overnight lows falling in the mid-teens.

Sunday
Sunday will be mostly cloudy and we will see an Alberta Clipper moving quickly through the area. Scattered flurries are expected to develop late in the morning and continue into the early evening. The storm system will not produce much buildup. Snowfall of a dusting of about 1″ is expected. There is a chance for isolated pockets of snow totaling about 2″. All surfaces are frozen and any snowfall will easily stick to the roadways. Some slippery spots are possible in the afternoon and evening. The snow ends early Sunday evening with partly cloudy skies Sunday evening. The highs for the day will be in the mid-20s and the lows will fall to the low single digits on Sunday evening.

LOOK AHEAD
Another fast-moving storm system is grazing the region on Monday and brings the possibility of a few snow showers Monday evening. Another light snow cover is possible Monday evening and slippery travel will be possible. Highs will warm towards the upper 20s. Tuesday looks like the hottest day of the forecast period with highs below 30. We will also have snow showers in the region as a storm system approaches from the southwest. This storm system also comes with a chance of snow accumulation for the valley. Behind Tuesday’s system comes another drop in temperature. The highs fall back into the teens on Wednesday and Thursday. Morning lows on both days will be around a few degrees below 0°.
