The overnight closure on the North West Freeway has been extended, northbound from the Rosebank Rd ramp. The NZTA said the ramp is expected to reopen shortly. Motorists are advised to follow the short detour and expect some minor delays.

Traffic through Auckland remains stable.

Weather

Although temperatures continue to drop as the country settles firmly into winter, Auckland will experience a balmy day on Tuesday.

Tāmaki Makaurau will be bathed in sunshine, but northern parts of Auckland around Whangaparaoa could experience a shower or two, according to MetService.

An easterly wind will blow over the entire region, but it will only reach 11 km/h in the afternoon.

Most Aucklanders can expect sunshine on Tuesday.

Most Aucklanders can expect sunshine on Tuesday.

Aucklanders can expect warm temperatures on Tuesday, with a high of 21°C and a low of 11°C. The hottest part of the day will be around 1 p.m., with cooler temperatures Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening.

Further up country towards Northland will experience odd showers throughout the day, but these showers are expected to dissipate by Tuesday evening.

The temperature in Northland is not expected to drop as low as in Auckland, with a high of 21°C and a low of 14°C.

Looking forward to the weather for the rest of the week, Auckland can expect the same, with mild temperatures and good weather across the board.

The news isn’t as good for Northland, with showers forecast for most of the week except Friday and Sunday.
